capital "D"

So my Indonesian maid was recently diagnosed with Diabetes.
Being the traditional type, she's really adamant that misai kucing's and herbal stuff can cure (yes, cure) her diabetes and would not take her medication which I call BULL!
In my extended family alone, there are about 9 diabetics.
I'm not saying that it's not life threatening or should be taken lightly, but its not really "cancer" to me. so I don't get too surprised when I hear someone get diagnosed.
but It was quite a shock for us because she doesn't seem to eat a lot, let alone sweet stuff.
So the topic on diabetes was quite hot in our household for a couple of days.

me: Hey, I just came up with something. Don't you think that it would be funny if we referred to Diabetes as "The big D?"

sister: ...

me: too far?

did you know that a cup of chocolate m&m's has the same amount of sugar as 7 cups of fruit??
I learnt that from Chris Powell.
 Chris Powell is never wrong!

I think I can totally understand why there as so many diabetic Malaysians , though. (5 million Malysians, not including those unaware)
there's sugar in everythaang.
ohhhh the memories of when I was a kid and I used to eat roti canai with gula.
OR OR even worse grandma would make me roti putih, butter and gula.
^that right there, is obesity and diabetes sandwiched between two slices of bread, literally.

five words; "you tryna kill me grandma?"
nahh I'm kidding. even if you really were trying to kill me, I wouldn't mind because I love you too much.
